New Interface

The new Internet Explorer Browser Interface

  • Displays more of each web page visited. The streamlined toolbar makes it easier to add web sites to Favorites, search the web, clear history, and access the other tasks and tools used most.
  • Optimized design includes consolidated menu items, smaller icons, and decreased toolbar height which provides more space to view web sites.
  • New Favorites Center makes it easier to manage favorite web sites, browsing history and RSS feeds with a few clicks.

Tabbed Browsing

Tabbed Browsing in Internet Explorer 7

  • Allows you to view many different web sites at one time within one organized window.
  • Make it easy to browse multiple web sites.
  • Provides the ability to click on new tab button in the toolbar then type in new address. The first web site stays open in that tab.
  • Quick Tabs displays all open tabs on one screen in snapshot form. This makes it easy to see all tabs open and select one when clicked on.


Search

  • Built-in search box brings favorite web search providers to one place by choosing multiple search providers.
  • Ability to display search results in separate tab and then open the results in another tab to compare information. After typing in the search criteria, press ALT+Enter to display results in new tab. This will prevent losing the site you're currently viewing
  • Provided the ability to customize your search by setting your favorite search provider as the default.
  • Ability to add search providers by selecting "Get Search Provider" from the drop down list.


RSS Feeds

RSS Feeds using the browser

  • News agencies and other dynamic sites now offer a service called RSS Feeds or RSS. With RSS Feeds the web site can feed or download information such as top headlines, current travel discounts, sports scores, and other timely content throughout the day to subscribers.
  • Provides the ability to check many different web sites and Blogs for updates.
  • By selecting the sites or topics you care about, Internet Explorer 7 delivers all the new headlines and updates to your Favorites Center.
  • If the Feed button in Internet Explorer lights up, it means that the site to have the feed automatically sent to your computer. When you click the subscribe button, the feed is automatically added to the Favorites Center and to the Common Feed List for sharing with other programs.

  • Security badges specify whether the site is suspicious or known for phishing. At a glance you'll see whether the site you're visiting has a valid Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate or if there are irregularities in the certificate information.
