What is Packet Loss

Packet loss refers to packets of data that are dropped or lost as packets are moved across the Internet. Information sent over the Internet is separated into small groups of data called Packets. Imagine them being organized similar to a caravan of people all driving to the same destination. The more packets moving through the same data highways, the more traffic. The increased traffic causes more delays and lost information.
